1st London Masters GC
Saturday Morning by Don Beck
12 of the best Gc players assembled at Surbiton to tackle this new competition.
Lawn speed estimated at 11 with even grass cover. Ground has residual moisture and hoops firm but yielding to a powerful shot.
The first round saw no real upsets but Andrew Dymond took the first game off Will Gee then lost the decider at hoop 13 having declined a 5 to 6yd hoop shot. The partial clearance yielding control and Will ran the hoop from the boundary.
A good crowd of a dozen visitors together with club members, cooks, etc enjoying some good croquet and excellent food.
