Pacific Cup AC
Pacific Cup Plate Format by Pierre Dunn
The 2015 Pacific Cup was played at the Puget Sound Croquet Club in Kirkland, Washington, October 9-11. Ten players competed in two days of Round Robin play, playing three 2.25-hour games per day for a total of 6 games each. One extra game was played on Thursday by Wally Clark and Carl Uhlman for rankings purposes, but was not counted toward the round robin result. The top eight players went on to the single-elimination Finals playoff ladder on the final day, and the other two players played the first Plate game. As players fell off the Finals ladder, they entered the Plate competition. All games on this final day of play were counted toward the Plate results, except for the games played by the two Cup finalists. Although some games counted both toward the Finals playoff AND toward the Plate, they couldn't be entered into the score system twice, so they do not appear in the Plate results listings. Four of the players ending play in the Plate competition had two wins each, so net points were used to determine the final Plate winner, Mike McGuire.
Patrick Sweeney was Tournament Director.
