Yesterday we saw the team of David Maloof and Jim Bast take down Danny Huneycutt and his disciple Matthew Essick 2-1. Matthew has come a long, long way in a very short period of time, unfortunately his knee was bothering him causing him to miss one too many easy shots. On the other court Jeff Soo and Brian Cumming were victorious over Ben Rothman and Robert Hurst. Maloof and Bast won their first game after a struggle that saw Danny and Jim run to four back. After Matthew failed on his triple David was successful with his. In the second game each made small errors resulting in Huneycutt and Essick winning. In the rubber match we had high drama resulting in Maloof cooly running his triple to win 26-21.
In the singles Jeff Soo won over Ben Rothman 2-1. In the second game Ben attempted to pop Jeff through one and two but only got the first. Jeff hit in and ran the table with an uncharacteristic miss by Ben on a five yarder. David and Matthew played late into the evening with David scoring his fourth tp of the day.
