Ok, this game looks like being fun, so let's follow Hemi v Felix in game 3. Chris is next to me so there should be some interesting quotes and tactical thoughts,

Hoop 1 had some good clearances before Felix won the first, and Hemi then took on an overly aggressive shot at ?something? from the south boundary - maybe a double, when Felix only had a clearance to the short boundary. Hemi can be forgiven for taking a little time to settle after having Felix play really well to level the match from game down and 4-0 down.

One noteworthy stroke of game 2 was a bad error by Felix - 1-0 down and with Hemi in the jaws of hoop 2, Felix took on a slightly-angled 3 yard jump stroke. The most-likely result happened - 2-0 to Hemi and first play to hoop 3. Bit of a rush of blood there.

Back to game 3, Felix missed a 9 yard clearance to get back into play at hoop 3, and Hemi ran 3 down to a yard west of the boundary level with hoop 4 -quite a strong position her, and he has taken good position with his partner ball. Just played a shocker of a clearance though, nudging black a foot and ending up on the west boundary. Blue clears red, red hits the back of hoop 4 and stops next to it, and a nicely run slightly-angled hoop 4 to ive Felix a 3-1 lead.

Hemi now has to take position at 5 going cross the hoop from near the west penalty spot - goes too far and is deep and eastish on the fast patch south of hoop 5. Nice approach by Felix and he'll have a 6 yard clearance to put himself in command of this hoop. Hits it in the middle at a perfect pace - yellow would have gone about 3 yards over the boundary, and black stays east of hoop 1.

Good reply by Hemi - centre-balls blue to just inside the boundary staying about 7 yards from the hoop himself. Hemi's mid-pace clearing has been impressive.

3-1 to felix at the moment

Attempt by Hemi to clear blue again nudges it and end up wtih yellow on the boundary, and Felix has centre-balled a shortish shot to leave Hemi needing another width of lawn shot which he misses. 4-1 to felix

Chris just explaining to Felix's Dad that there is no time limit for this world championship unless there are issues. Two games have had time limits put on them, but there is plenty of light here, it's an excellent match and we're not doing that! Both players are quick.

4-2 to felix - really nice angled, 2.5 yard hoop 6 by Hemi - smooth stroke which goes through by 4 feet.

Felix takes position at 7 well. Hemi gets even better position. Felix tries to cut red to corner 3 and only gets it to the middle of the north boundary.

5-2 very bad luck for Hemi who, shooting at Felix's ball, rushes him just through hoop 7. it looked like a really good shot.

Felix is not too far through, and plays to about a yard dead in front of hoop 8. Hemi ends up just about in contact with him with another good shot. Couple more good shots and Hemi needs to clear Felix from the south boundary. In trouble now... Felix has run hoop 8 from a yard to take a 6-2 lead! Hemi is still playing well, but missing a few shots, and Felix (handicap 3!!) is having a blinder!

Red takes position about 5 feet south and somewhat west of the hoop. Black sails miles past. Yellow takes slightly better position, Blue ends up north-east of the hoop - bit of a loss of concentration here

6-3 - Hemi has run a good hoop to a couple of yards north of level with the peg.

Felix overhits his approach to north of hoop 10. Hemi takes long position with yellow. Felix takes position with blue, Hemi clears, Felix takes position with black, great long hoop by Hemi - really nice stroke 6-4

Longish position with blue (5-6 feet, but straight), red overdoes it, Felix plays black up to decent position. Danger here...

Hemi has cleared Blue down to about level with hoop 5, going off the west boundary with yellow.

Felix plays a poor stroke to end up a yard south of 11, and it's evens at hoop 11.

I didn't think Black could run the hoop, but Hemi clears black wtih red. Got a bit of a double clearance, moving yellow back, but got black well clear.

Blue clears red, and has a victorious fist pump. Excellent spirit this match, but both players are really fighting here.

Black misses. 2 foot hoop ... runs it to level with the peg. Great game this! 6-5 to Felix

Blue rolls down to rover - overruns, and gives red a clearance that leave it about 3 yards in front of the hoop. Black takes angled position, Yellow takes 2 yard position. Blue nudges red offline, heading down to the south boundary. Another stroke sees yellow alone in front of the hoop

Great clearance from the south boundary clears yellow and a bit of hill puts it behind hoop 2. Hemi plays this back to a foot south of the peg.

Blue to 7 foot, angled position. Red nudges this on the way up, and has probably blocked yellow from clearing blue!

Black plays up - much unhappiness about some hill, but he's in front - nearly had yellow blocked.

Yellow clears black.

I thought Felix walked up to blue way too quickly, has a go at the hoop, but bounces off to 6 inches in front - not a bad second prize.

Red clears blue, bounces out of the jaws to beside the hoop All a bit messy now...

Felix plays black into Chris's "triangle of danger" - giving a clearance to run up to hoop 13.

Hemi tries to nudge red in front - misses by a mile to put yellow in unrunnable position.

Felix to deep position. Red in front. Black has a go at the hoop, hits the lefthand leg and is now on the south boundary.

Hemi clears blue centre-ball, leaving yellow nearby and blue on the east boundary.

Felix has a centre-ball clearance to stay in the hoop

Red back in front, black nudges up to near red, yellow in front, Blue shoots at red, moving it a few yards, but also nudging black a bit. Red clears black

More applause as black clears yellow, and yellow heads back in front. Blue takes good positino - bit boring reading all this probably, but a really good indication of the class of this match!

red also into good position. Black clears yellow, but also nudges blue out of hoop-running position, and hits a bit of red for good measure.

We've now got red (Hemi) shooting at black which is angled, but in front of hoop 12,and blue and yellow are south of the peg - yet another good clearance - fantastic hoop this. Someone's going to be uncomfortable to have Hemi in their Open worlds block - oh, .. me.

Hemi and Felix have a chat - hmm, need to stop doing that. Hemi has a long go at the hoop with yellow - bounces out to 4 yards to the side. Blue into position - still match point.

Red back to position, Felix has cleared yellow and is very close to wiring - blue is 4 feet dead in front of hoop 12. no - Hemi is shooting...

...misses. Felix rushes in to start casting.. Felix Webby wins the match 2-1 - thanks for the entertainment chaps!
