NZ Open - Singles KO
Friday preview by Jarrod Coutts
The courts look a lot slower today, it's hard to give them a lawnspeed as they are so patchy. Talking to Bryant yesterday, he thought the green areas were approximately 10 seconds but the brown patches could be 20+. I'm hoping this overcast weather will go away and the sun will come out so we can have some more exciting and interactive games.
Matches in play for the round of 16
Shilling and Roberts 1-1; Shilling is favourite but Roberts played well in game 2 from what I've heard. Im backing Shilling to close out the match.
Wise and Hakes; 1-0 Hakes and providing he keeps his head, should be over 2-0
Fordyce and Tahurangi; Fordyce 1-0 and I'm predicting this will go to the 3rd.
Skinley and Robinson; Skinley 1-0 and this should be over 2-0
Wright and Wickham 1-1; I'm backing Wickham to take the 3rd.
Bulloch, Bryant and Mulliner are the 3 players already in the quarters.
This will be my last day of commentary. I've got a box of double bubble to keep me company so fingers crossed I can cover a bit of the quarters before I head off to watch the cricket. Cheeky 5'vr on Munro to be highest run scorer so fingers crossed it brings me home the big bucks! Any questions throughout, email me on [email protected]
Cheers =)
