Round 8, the big story was Chris nearly beating David. David blobbed 1. a couple of times and Chris got in went to 4b. David hit went to 4b. Chris hit but broke down at 3b. David went to peg and pegged off as time had been called.

Much bigger news. In the Malmet Alastair Burn-Murdoch has just completed a QP!

Details of AB-M's qp. First ball round but blobbed 3b. Oppo moved ball set up break and blobbed 1of Alastair's hoop 1 ball. Alastair made hoop 1, rushed into C4, sent it to 3 getting on peele and rushed to peeling position. 3b peel sent peelee half way up the lawn while getting to within a yard of H2 pioneer. Thereafter fairly standard. Rush toward 4 after 2, croquet stroke gets S of peelee and peelee rushed and croqueted to peeling position. Peel jawsed after 3, Rush peeled after 4 then rushed across to peeling position at penult before 6. Penult peeled after 6 then Rover before 3b. No Maugham error and a peg out from less than a yard.

In round 9 David disposed of Alan easily but steadfastly refused to try a triple in case he broke down and Alan won.

John beat Janice and Chris beat Brian, not much more to say there.
Final round Alan v Chris. Alan round turn 5 Chris hits lift, has everything there for the tpo but opts for a ball round to 4b.
John v David - the decider. If David wins he wins outright, if John wins it's a tie break.

Meanwhile Chris makes an NSL, Alan Misseslift and Chris gets going.
John makes a leave with David (G) 1 yd S and 2yd W of 1, B nearly wired.

Chris and Alan both make hoop 1 abd break down Alan makes a good leave. Chris, emboldened by several glasses of wine, takes on suicide shot and hits! Now going round for 4 with partner in C4.
David misses lift. John runs an angled 4 b from a distance. Should finish making a tie.

John wins and wins the Rosebowl by virtue of two wins against David.
