The Western Championship
Finals Day by Alison Jones
Good morning all, today is Finals day at the Western Championship. I am your friendly commentator for the day and will hopefully keep you up to date with the latest. The clouds are providing a welcome cool morning shade, the lawns have been cut and the hoops are currently being set. Manager Maugham is all ready for the day and the players have started arriving,
I will also be playing today so commentary may have a few gaps at times, but I will try my best and maybe even rope in a helper along the way.
So, first things first... the final of The Western Championship will be played between David Maugham and Stephen Mulliner.
Plate knockout is Powe v Myers and Reeve v Harrison-Wood.
Play will hopefully be starting at 9.30am, good luck to all the players today.

East Dorset CC have recently recruited a new grounds manager, Robin. I think he deserves a mention here as everyone has commented on the great quality of the grass and general maintenance. Robin used to be with Bournmouth Football Club and takes great pride in making sure his lawns are as special as possible. Huge thanks to Robin and we look forward to next year.

Current situation in game 2: DM stuck in hoop 6 with Red, so Red clip is now Hoop 6 and Yellow clip hoop 1. SM hit his lift and has set a diagonal spread leaving blue clip on 1 back, black on 1. DM just missed the lift.
