Sorry for the break - internet problems here at ECF HQ with too much contention. Now on a hotspot (thanks Yousri!) so should be fine.

It has been an excellent World Championship with a great deal of very high class play. The weather has been hot without being oppressive during the day. The situation now, at 1800 local, is perfect playing conditions - 26 degrees, not a breath of wind (although the breeze from the Nile can make its presence felt from time to time). The courts have been mown and rolled during the event and the three ECF courts and courts 1 and 2 at the Gezira Club have never been better. Court 3 at Gizera lost its water supply for three weeks which did not help. The ECF has done a great job again.
The new GC Rules were explained in a teach-in last Friday and have been adopted without a ripple. There have been very few wrong balls with players and referees forestalling promptly. Prevention is indeed better than cure.
Everyone has had as much play as they wanted with a full play-out of places from 1 to 32 (although a few withdrew for a variety of reasons). This provided 10 best-of-3 matches with two matches on days 1 and 2 and one match for the remaining six days which, given the climate, is very acceptable.
We are having another extended break between games with all the hoops being reset. 10 minutes now since Yasser squared the match.
