CNZ Arthur Ross AC Memorial Handicap Singles
Day 1 by Bonnie Johnstone by Brian Boutel
Arthur Ross Memorial
Its hard sitting on the sideline without a mallet in my hand so I thought I would tutu with the commentary. Flowery as it is commentary from Bonnie Johnstone on Brian Boutel’s laptop.
Arthur would be proud to see another great turnout from Associations to support the playoff for the ARM. Kelburn Club hosting this tournament with an informative tournament manger, advising players of the state of the lawns, wide lines and tight hoops has left nothing for the players to complain about but to get on with their play.
There is a good spread of players, young, old (no names) and a mixture of handicaps -1.5 to 11.
Down memory lane Robert Lowe won this trophy 1986 and he has come back in great shape for another crack at it.
Great play by all but the game of the day was between John Christy -1 and happy Hearnshaw, 2.5 who thought a fun game of pegging out Christy’s ball and then his own would spice up the game. Christy showed us how a 2 baller should play making 7 hoops from hoop 3 to 4 back. Sadly his enthusiasm showed and he over rolled on hoop 4back. 22 -25.
