National Forest GC Doubles
Result and Rules by Arthur L Rowe
The winners were Paul Durkin and Jane Tewson, based on the following rules for the competition defined by the manager Ray Mounfield.
Each round will consist of THREE games (toss to decide colours/start for first game, thereafter for games 2 and 3 losers will start). With 3 games to be played the matches could have a 3-0 result.
AT THE END OF TIME FOR ANY OF THE GAMES PLAY WILL CONTINUE FOR EIGHT FURTHER TURNS – IF AFTER THE EIGHT TURNS THE SCORE IS LEVEL THAT GAME WILL BE RECORDED AS DRAWN.
THE TOURNAMENT WINNERS WILL BE THE TEAM WITH THE HIGHEST TOTAL OF MATCH WINS. IF MORE THAN ONE TEAM HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF MATCH WINS THEN IT WILL BE THE TEAM WITH THE HIGHER NUMBER OF GAME WINS - Drawn games to count as 0.5 win (followed, if needed, by hoop difference – in the unlikely event that this does not produce a winning team the manager will arrange a shoot-out)
There was one drawn game at 6-6 between Ellie Ross & Chris Wood and Michael Bilton and Pauline Donner, so Ellie & Chris actually had 8.5 wins. This did not affect the resulting ranking however. Croquetscores can only record games with a win / loss, not drawn games.
