United Novice Twilight
United Novice Twilight Information by Claire Horncastle
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the United Novice Twilight competition which will be the first croquet competition for most of you.
Arrive anytime after 5.30 pm for a practice or a bit of coaching ready to start the first round at 6 pm.
The format is different from what was advertised to give you as many games as possible in the time we have available. The event is being run as a Flexible Swiss. This means that whenever two teams are available that haven't played each other that evening you find a free lawn and play a game. We have 6 teams entered for Week One at the moment but this may change. Feel free to bring others along with you. With six teams entered you will play a maximum of five games each Wednesday.
To win you need to have played at least three games that evening. The winner is determined first by percentage wins, then if there is a draw by "average strength of opponent" which is calculated by dividing the total number of your opponents wins by the total number of games your opponents have played.
Games will be 7- point games so the first team to score 4 points wins that game.
There will be club members on each lawn available to help.
The cost is $5 per person per week or $2 for United members. Cash is preferred.
Pizza will be provided at 7.30 pm, please let me know when you arrive if you have any dietary requirements.
I can be contacted at [email protected] or on 0277 104 804
Results will be posted each week on Croquet scores https://croquetscores.com/2020/gc/united-novice-twilight
I'm looking forward to getting you hooked on an under rated sport!
