Jean Rentoul Memorial
The Jean Rentoul Memorial by Katrina Petersen
The Jean Rentoul Memorial is an Association Croquet Tournament made possible by the generosity of the late Jean Rentoul. It is a competition with a tempting prize purse, honouring Jean's wish that this bequest be used to assist in the development of women in sections 3 and 4 and to entice them to compete.
It is open to Women in Sections 3 and 4 with a handicap range of 10 to 20. Play consists of 2 days playing 3 x 2hour games each day. It's a Singles Tournament but handicap cards are not used, putting the emphasis on experiencing Tournament conditions, being involved and having fun.
The Tournament is aimed at being a fun and social introduction to players old and new who want to experience competition and meet other women who are dipping their toes into the world of Competitive Croquet.

I should have also mentioned!...
Since the Tournament is pre-determined at 6 games for each participant over the 2 day duration, this year's blocks of 8 mean that every player will miss playing ONE of the other ladies in their block. Every player will have one empty score when looking at the Block Grids when the Tournament is finished.
