14th WCF Golf Croquet World Championship
Further updates to Wednesday schedule by Mike Town
It is intended to follow the schedule for Wednesday published during the afternoon of Tuesday 2nd August, with the final matches of block play being played before any uncompleted matches are resumed.
If you are due to play at 09:30, please try to arrive for 09:00 to get an earlier start.
Due to a late finish on Tuesday as well as Saturday and Sunday, there are more uncompleted matches to be played to a finish before the block results can be determined.
The uncompleted matches to be played when players and lawns are available are as follows -
Block D - Yasser Sayed v Sherif Abdelwahab - lawn 8 - score currently 7-4
Block C - Rachel Gee v Jonathan Powe - lawn 9 - score currently 7-3, 6-7
Block E - Euan Burridge v Tim Jolliff - lawn 3 - score currently 7-4, 6-7
Block E - Ahmed Nasr v Miroslav Havlik - lawn 4 - score currently 7-2, 5-5 (pegged down)
Block G - Ben Rothman v Dusan Turcer - lawn 1 - score currently 3-7, 7-5
Block G - Stephen Mulliner v Nick Archer- lawn 5 - score currently 7-2, 5-7
Block G - Ian Burridge v Joi Elebo - lawn 9 - score currently 3-7
These matches may not necessarily be played in that order or on those lawns.
Block play will be completed on Wednesday, together with as many playoff games (if required) that can be scheduled. Further playoffs will take place on Thursday morning and the knockout stage will begin on Thursday as soon as possible.
The draw for the knockout is based on block positions and can therefore still take place on Wednesday evening - but the actual names may not be known until the playoffs are completed.
The schedule for the Plate will be published and the event will commence as soon as the playoffs are completed and the names of all the players are known - expected to be Thursday afternoon at the latest.
It is likely that the Championship quarter-finals may have to be reduced to best-of-three, but the semi-finals onwards are expected to be best-of-five.
