The inaugural 2022/23 Croquet Auckland Women’s Open Singles, a ranking event, is scheduled to take place over two days at Takapuna Croquet Club, 8 Auburn Street, Takapuna, Auckland on Saturday/Sunday September 10th/11th.

As at Sept 8th there are 12 entrants, providing that there are no further withdrawals play will take the form of a round robin, with 6 x 13 hoop games on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. Some games will be double banked. Games will essentially be untimed, but the Tournament Referee may apply a time limit should they consider the need to arise.

The entry fee is $20 per player for the two days, payable by bank transfer to Croquet Auckland 12-3011-0816623-000 (ref: surname & CA Womens O). Takapuna Croquet Club will charge an additional daily club house fee of $5 to cover the cost of tea/coffee/biscuits. Players should arrange to bring their own lunch, although the club is within walking distance of various food outlets within a shopping mall. Free parking is normally available close to the clubhouse on Friday afternoons and at weekends.

Dawson balls will be used, as will Quadway hoops which will be set to the largest ball plus 1/16th of an inch with an upwards and downwards tolerance of 1/32nd of an inch

WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather or other mishap the event will be cancelled, there are no back up dates. Players will be notified by email by 08:00 on Friday September 9th as to whether play will take place or not.

Confirmed entrants may practise on the competition lawns on Friday September 9th between 14:00 and 16:00 without charge.

Play will take place daily from 08:30, please assemble by 08:15 on day 1 for an address by the Tournament Manger.
