USCA Western GC Regionals
in the beginning ... by Paul Bennett
Thank you, participants, for playing in the Western GC Regionals!
Dinner tonight was great. I enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to a great event.
Please show up before your scheduled game to help us setup halfway pegs, run strings and start on time.
There was much discussion about time limits and it was agreed to be set to a 1 hour time limit in both Championship and First Flight divisions.
We incorrectly stated the regulation after a time limit has expired. Please refer to section T4 Appendix 3.
After time has expired, play continues for an extension period of a further eight turns (2 rotations).
At the end of the extension period, the side that has scored the greater number of points is the winner.
If the score is tied after the extension period, play again continues and the side for which the next point is scored is the winner.
Rick, Giancarlo, Spencer and Pat - pick up your packet from Paul in the morning.
Have a good evening,
Paul

Odd how that works ... yes we had 6 games that went to time, out of 36 played.
One game played only with one rotation, and the losers were upset once they found out the real rule was two rotations.
My bad ... should have started with a group meeting at the beginning of play.
I enjoyed having a safety briefing at each venue during the last Worlds in New Zealand.
We could have easily made the correct announcement then.

No best of 3 rounds in the Doubles Draw or Process brackets.
Executive decision.
No folks objected to this decision.
Tomorrow many of us have 4 single games in the morning followed by the Double Process in the afternoon.
Check your scores and number of games. I think I am missing one score (go figure!).
