Welcome to Croquet Nelson 73rd Annual Tournament that will be held at Nelson Hinemoa Croquet Club from 4 – 9 March 2023. Welcome to those who are traveling to the Nelson Tasman region.

The formats, general information, and catering are included in this letter. If you have questions, please let me know.

Formats: The format for all events are based on giving the full tournament play for all competitors. All games will be 2 ½ hours, Law 61. The championship events are seeded according to WCF database. There will be no double banking.

Open Championship Singles (one block of 6): The Open Championship Singles will be played on Saturday & Sunday, 4 – 5 March. Three games on Saturday and two on Sunday.

B Championship Singles: The singles will be played on Saturday, 4 March. Prize money and trophy will be presented at the end of the day. There is one block of 3. Top ranked will play 3rd ranked the first game. The second ranked person will have a bye. You will have 15 minutes warm up before your game.

Handicap Doubles: One block of 4. One game will be played on Sunday and the rest played on Monday, 6th

Handicap Singles: One block of 6. Played Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 – 8 March

General Information:
• Report by 8:30 for an 8:45 am start each day.
• 5 minute warm up at the beginning of each day.
• There will be an Appeals Committee, if needed.
• All games will be posted on croquet scores.com. This information will be posted in the “Commentary” section of croquet scores. If there are updates, they will also be posted.
• Please be sure to bring your AHS card. The AHS cards will be checked at the beginning of each event.
• Prize money, certificates and trophies will be given for each event.
• Lawns will be assigned after each game.
• Referees will be on call.
• Entry fees are: $20 if you are in one event, $35 if you are in two events, and $45 if you are in three events.

Catering:
• Morning and afternoon teas will be served starting at 10 am until play is finished each day. Tea and coffee will be available from 8:45 onwards. Please let me know if you have dietary requirements. The morning and afternoon teas are included in the entry fees.
• Lunches: Bring your own. If you need to leave the premises, please check with the Manager.
