Welcome to Croquet Nelson Golf Croquet Grade Championships that will be held at Nelson Hinemoa Croquet Club in Nelson.

The formats, general information, and catering are included in this letter. If you have questions, please let me know.

Formats: The formats for the doubles and singles are based on giving the full tournament play for all competitors. The draw will be listed on Croquet Scores. All events are seeded according to world rankings. If a player doesn’t have a world ranking, then AHS card index will be used to rank those with the same handicap. The draw will be seeded.

Doubles will be played on Saturday, 4 February, with a reporting time of 8:45 am. There will be a welcome and briefing before the 5 minute warm up at 8:55 am. The Manager reserves the right to set a time limit with notice.

Senior Doubles: The Senior Doubles will play a round robin 19 point game. There will not be double banking and there will be a bye. The players who have the first bye will be notified prior to the day.

Junior Doubles: The Junior Doubles will play a round robin 19 point game. No double banking.

Singles will be played on Sunday, 5 February, with a reporting time of 8:45 am. There will be a welcome and briefing before the 5 minute warm up at 8:55 am. There will be no time limits. The Manager does reserve the right to set a time limit with notice.

Premier Singles: There will be a bye each round and double banking. There are 7 Premier Singles players who will play a round robin and 13 point games. The player who has the first bye will be notified prior to the day.

Senior Singles: There are 6 Senior Singles who will play a round robin and 13 point games. There will be double banking.

Intermediate Singles: There are 9 Intermediate Singles who will play a round robin and 13 point games. There will be double banking. The player who has the first bye will be notified prior to the day.

Primary Singles: The Primary Singles will be a round robin 13 point games. There will be double banking. There are 8 players.

General Information:
• Practice on the lawns will be available on Friday, 3 February from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
• 5 minute warm up at the beginning of each day. If someone has a bye, then warm up will be arranged before the player starts.
• There is an Appeals Committee, if needed.
• All games will be posted on croquet scores. This information will be posted in the “Commentary” section of croquet scores. If there are any updates, it will also be posted.
• Trophies and prize money will be awarded at the end of each day.
• Monday, 6 February, is reserved in case of inclement weather that stops the tournament.
• Please bring your AHS card and give it to the Manager upon arrival for it to be checked.
• If you leave the grounds during the event, please check with the Manager prior to leaving.
Catering:
• Morning and afternoon teas will be served starting at 10 am until play is finished each day. Tea and coffee will be available from 8:30 onwards. If you have any dietary requirements, please let the Manager know before the tournament. Morning and afternoon teas are included in the entry fee.
• Please bring your own lunch. If you need for someone to pick one up for you, please let us know as soon as possible. One of the supermarkets will make up sandwiches for about $8 that are good.
• If you have markers, please bring them. We have limited number of referees each day and may call upon you to mark your own balls when there is double banking.
• If you need directions to the Club, please let the Manager know. There is parking next to the lawns available for the Club.
