NSW GC Selectors' Tournament
Format by Peter Freer
Two Blocks of 8 players, Women’s and Men’s respectively, each playing a round robin of best-of two matches (to simulate the ISS). However net games won will determine the winner, not matches won.
The Women’s block will aim to complete 2 rounds (4 games) on Friday, starting at 1030 to allow players from Toronto and Canberra to leave home on Friday morning rather than Thursday night. On Saturday the Women’s block will play 3 rounds starting at 8.00 am, with the
final 2 rounds plus any tie-break games on Sunday, also starting at 8.00 am.
The Men’s block will start at 8.00 am each day, and will play 3 rounds on Friday, 2 rounds on Saturday, with the final 2 rounds plus any tie-break games on Sunday.
The winner of each Block will be invited to take part in the NSW ACA Bronze Medal (23-25 June).
The winner will be:
i) who has the best net games (match wins will be disregarded for this purpose);
ii) If there is a tie on net games, consider only the matches between the tied players, and rank these players based on number of wins in these matches alone;
iii) If there is still a tie, the tied players will play a single 13-pt game as tie-break (if more than two players are tied, they will play a knockout of single 13-point games. If 3 players are tied, the highest ranked on net points will have the bye).
Other place-getters will be determined on the basis of net games and net hoops.
