Aust - RC Open Singles
Format by Peter Freer
Play will be three blocks, playing a single 26 point game in a round robin against each player in their block on Thurs & Friday (Days 1-2).
Players finishing first in each block, plus the best second place across all three blocks, qualify for the Knockout. Places will be decided by ACA Tournament Regulation 20.1.5
(ie games won, then net hoops, then who beat whom). Players tied on equal wins, whose selection for the Knockout is in jeopardy, will not play off to decide block placings, since time is limited and we don’t have a short tie-break. The best second will be decided on wins, then net hoops, now that a withdrawal means the blocks all have 6 players in each.
Knockout matches will all be best of three games; and may be double-banked. Semi-Finals will be on Saturday (Day 3) & the Final on Sunday (Day 4). The 2 losers from the Semi-Finals play-off for Third/Fourth on Sunday (Day 4).
The remaining 15 players proceed to the Plate Event. This will be a flexible Swiss of single games, starting on Saturday (Day 3) and finishing on Sunday (Day 4). The minimum games to win will depend on how many play in the Plate.
