Conditions of Play by David Stanton
FORMAT
Four blocks, three of 5 players and one of 4 players, each playing a round robin. The block of 4 will play at Queanbeyan on Saturday, while the three blocks of 5 will play one round on Friday evening at Canberra, followed by 4 rounds on Saturday, also at Canberra.
The top two from each block will take pre-determined positions in the “X” knockout, and the remaining players in each block will take predetermined positions in the “Y” and “W” knockouts or the Plate block. First round losers in the “X” knockout will enter the “Z” knockout. Matches will also be held to determine 3rd and 4th place in the “X”, “Y” and “Z” knockouts. The “Y” knockout will be played at Queanbeyan on Sunday, while all other knockouts and the Plate will be played at Canberra, also on Sunday.
TIMES OF PLAY
There will be one round played at Canberra on Friday, starting at 5.00 pm.
On Saturday there will be a player briefing at Canberra CC at 7.15 am, followed by games starting at 7.30 am at Canberra and 8.00 am at Queanbeyan. On Sunday play will start at both venues at 8.00 am. Other sessions will commence as players and courts become available. A lunch break of 15 minutes is allowed at an appropriate time determined by the manager.
CONDITIONS OF PLAY
Advanced level play. Time limit is 2 hours 15 minutes for all block games. All games will be double-banked. No extra time is allowed for double-banking but clocks may be stopped for significant interference caused by the other game.
Players may practice on any court before play starts provided all courts are set up for play. This practice will cease 15 minutes before play start time. A 5-minute warm up is permitted before the start of a player’s first game each day.
Dawson International balls will be used. Hoops will be set at 3 11/16th" with a downward tolerance of 1/32nd of an inch.
