US Open GC Pro-Am
Format by Jeff Soo
The inaugural US Open GC Pro-Am will played as a strict Swiss (where play proceeds in complete rounds). Five rounds will be played. Finish order based on wins, net points, record against. Each match is one 13-point game, single-banked, with an 80-minute time limit. If the time limit is reached, play continues for an extension period of 8 additional turns (i.e., 2 per ball). If the game is tied at the end of the extension period, play continues until the next point is scored.
For the first round the top 4 pairs will be seeded by combined DGrade and the remaining pairs drawn at random. For the next three rounds each match will be between pairs with identical win-loss records. The matches in the fifth and final round will be between pairs with the same number of wins and losses, with two exceptions, since at that point there will be only one pair with no losses and one pair with no wins (each of those pairs will play a 2-2 pair in this round).
