Break all Garry missed long lift, Evan made hoop 1 but seems to miss something before 2. Garry has now hit W on S boundary with B and is approaching 1.

Garry over approaches 1 and takes position. W near 2 shoots at G near 1 and hits it through 1. So G and B are within a couple of inches of each other behind 1. P is 6 yards NE of 4.

Evan croquets G towards E boundary and rushes B to the boundary 4 yards S of P.

Great shot sending B to 3 and gets a rush on P to 4 yards from 2. Approaches 2 to5 feet slightly angled. Runs it to boundary. Should be away now with 50 minutes left.

So Garry 4 back and 1
Evan 4back and 3 with a break.

In the doubles play off between Scotland and SA, Duncan is round to 4 back and David Magee is now approaching 1. Nick is on 3 with Reg on 1

Evan took off the green which was near 1 sent it to 4 back and has just misapproached 3. He is looking at joining back with white on west boundary level with 2. Pink is about 2 feet outside boundary.

In the Dladla v Hope third game Andrew is round to 3 back and Victor has just failed 4.

Garry shoots brown from near 3 at Green near 4 and misses.

Evan rushes pink off south boundary about 2 yards from brown, does not get decent rush on brown.

Evan croquets brown deep between 6 and 2, and goes past green so has to rush it to S boundary. Will now croquet green to 3 and lays rush on pink behind 4.

Garry shoots green at brown and misses to west boundary level with peg. Evan rushes pink to 2 yards from 3. Approaches and runs 3 takes rush on pink to 1 yard from 2. Croquets pink yo to but fails to get rush on brown to 4, so cuts it behind green.

David Magee is making 6 having done 1 peel of triple in the doubles play off.

Great rush on green from Evan to 2 yards in front of 4 and he is now away. Gets through 4 by a yard and hits green to S boundary. Good pioneer at 5, so he should be round here.

Hope v Dladla Victor is now round to 6 with his other on 4, Andrew is 3 back and 1

In the doubles Magee is now round to 4 back having done 1 peel.

Evan is now approaching and runs 1 back with white.

David Magee is setting up for a straight double.

Evan runs 2 back, but has a very deep 3 back pioneer, ie half way to S boundary. Croquets green to 4 back and rushes pink to S boundary. Gets 2 yards from brown and cuts it to 3 yards from 3 back.

Magee peels (to past rover) and runs penult, but does not have a side ball. Hits hampered shot on yellow though.

Victor breaks down at 2 back

Magee rushes black straight in front of rover and peels to a yard from s boundary.

Evan runs 3 back, so we now have 4b and 4b v 1 and 4b

David Magee rushes to a few feet from peg and pegs out to win the provisional play off doubles +24tp

Evan is now up to penult with less than 20 minutes left. So assuming he gets to the peg, Garry is going to have to go round, do at least 1 peel and peg out Evan and himself to leave him 1 up with Evan with one shot left. Will Garry think of this is the question.

Controversy at rover. Evan's white appears to be in a hole and an independent referee has been called. David Magee has rushed out with the sand bucket is repairing the hole. About 10 minutes left now. Evan runs rover to a big sigh from Simon Williams.

Evan has a big thrash at pink to rush it west boundary and snicks it to a huge ooohhh from the crowd. Rolls them towards the West boundary level with two with no rush for pink. Brown is near peg and green close to boundary by 4.

Garry takes short lift brown at green and hits.

Garry takes off to pink and white and hits pink off boundary,. So P and W are about 2 yards apart and both on boundary. Good shot with rush to 1. Bit straight so is mid way between 1 and C1.

Good approach snd has 2 yard hoop 1. Sticks.

At least it is off the peg ball, but easy hit for Evan, which he gets and rushes to S boundary. 2 minutes left I think and Garry may have one more shot. Should Evan peg out is the question.

Evan sends pink behind 4 back and white ends up near peg and pegs out. So Garry has a 20 yarder which he misses and Ireland win Tier 2.1
