WCF AC World Championship
Z EVENT - Details by Callum Hyland
Hello all,
Trevor Bassett and I have been tasked with organising a Z for players who have no further play (or who have Byes) over Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, we have 3 lawns available at Wellington until 3p.m., 1 lawn at Kelburn all day, and 1 all day at Waikanae. Saturday's lawn availability is yet to be determined.
For players who have already expressed interest, please check this space for a draw for the first round, which should be posted as early as possible this evening. Play will begin an 9 a.m. at all venues except Waikanae, which will start at 9:30 a.m.
For other players, please email me at [email protected] as soon as possible if you would like a game in the next two days.
The format will be a flexible Swiss, with the winner determined by % of wins, followed by net hoops. 2 games at least must be played to be in the running to be crowned winner.
Any players whose names do not appear hear this evening, but who find themselves at a club with a free lawn and an opponent, feel free to have a game, and ask your venue manager to put the result on croquetscores.
Games will be 2.5 hours, and will be self refereed.

Z Draw.
9 a.m. at Wellington on Friday we have:
Forster v. McDiarmid
Bassett v. Christie
Bast v. Murphy
Jenkins v. Crashley
Honey v. Fisher
Savinovs v. Percival-Smith
A second round will take place as soon as the first is finished for the above players.
Also, we have 1 law free at Kelburn for the day, so anyone who has not yet confirmed whether or not they would like to play in the Z, and would like to wander down during the day, and can find an opponent, is welcome to start at any time (2.5 hr games). It is expected that some of the Wellington players will come to Kelburn in the afternoon (while Wellington move their hoops), so take your spot on the Z lawn fast!

p.s. There will be no organised transport from Kelburn to Wellington tomorrow morning, so players will need to make their own way to the venue.
Please be prepared to start slightly later than advertised if your opponent is late.
It's a Z event, so we can be flexible in just about any way, so no stress!

SATURDAY
We have managed to find a grand total of 1 lawn for the Z Event tomorrow, and that will be at Kelburn.
So far the only scheduled matches are:
9:00 a.m.
Sharpe v. Crashley
Christie v. Norback
Free from 11 we have Percival-Smith and Hyland waiting for games, and various others who may be around during the day.
So, if you would like a Z game, just turn up at Kelburn (at anytime after 10:30ish) and find an opponent.
See you then, or alternatively, enjoy the spectating!
