Day 1 ... The two blocks of 8 will be ranked, as per the CNZ Year Book page 309 sections 27.2 and 28.1, from those listed on the WCF database on Monday Feb 1st, including the UNITE results.
Day 2 ... The top 8 players* (not necessarily the top 4 in each block) will play at Kensington on day 2, again ranked and playing best of 3 knockout, so that first seed plays 8th seed, second plays 7th, 3rd plays 6th and 4th plays 5th. Players knocked out in round one play each other (again seeded) in order that all entrants may play at least 6 games on day 2. The 8 players in the bottom half of the day one competition will play 7 games against one another at Whangarei, these players will not receive tournament prizes.
HOOPS/BALLS
Quadway hoops will be deployed, initially set to 3 11/16” -, then narrowed or widened to ensure that all balls to be used on the lawn have as close to 1/32” clearance as can be achieved in situ.
There will be double banking. This is a ranking event, AHS cards will be used, please hand your up to date cards to the venue manager on arrival.
