19th WCF AC World Championship
Day 4 (Tuesday 21 October) Order of Play by Jeff Soo
Apologies if your start time is different to what I may have suggested in conversation; it's important not just to get the games finished, but to do so in time to allow time for updating the rankings prior to the Knock Out Draw.
All play is at NCC today.
Practice courts
For players who have finished all their block games (and any playoffs), there should be several courts available for practice from about 9:00 onward.
Consolation events
With a three-way playoff in Block G there is no assurance of having the draw for the Plate blocks finished in time for any games today, so the Plate will begin on Wednesday instead.
The Manager's Invitational will begin today as a flexible Swiss. Players who have not qualified to the championship KO and who are not involved in finishing block games are eligible to play. The Swiss will likely resume on Friday afternoon, after the Plate KO has finished its first round.
Block A
No playoff required, but there are two remaining block games. Robert Fletcher, Sam Murray, Patrick Sweeney, and Alain Giraud required at 10:00.
Block B
Angharrad Walters and Michael Gidding to resume their pegged-down game at 8:30. If Walters wins, she will tie with Rich Lamm for 4th place, so Lamm is required at 10:00 in case the playoff is needed. David Druiett required at 10:30 to play his block game with Gidding.
Block C
Ben Rothman and Lachlan Berryman have a playoff for 4th place, and are required at 8:30.
Block D
David Fuller and Stuart Lawrence are required at 8:30 to resume their pegged-down game. Stephen Allen is required at 10:00 for his block game with Fuller. If Fuller beats Lawrence and loses to Allen, Fuller and Lawrence will be tied for 4th place and will have a playoff.
For the remaining Block D games, Joe King and Jack rush are required at 8:30 to resume their pegged-down game; Andrew Johnston is required at 10:15 to play King; Andrew Symons is required at 1:00 to play King.
Block E
Edmund Fordyce and Gabrielle Higgins have a playoff for 4th place, and are required at 10:00.
Block F
No playoff required. Morgan and Coutts to resume at 12:30.
Block G
There is a three-way tie for 4th place between Debbie Lines, Jordan Waters, and Callum Hyland. Each of the three has beaten one of the others, so I have randomly drawn Waters and Hyland as the players who will contest R1. Lines must beat the R1 winner twice to qualify, otherwise the R1 winner qualifies.
Block H
No playoff required. Steve Scalpone, Marcus Evans, James Death, John Versey, Sherif Abdelwahab, and Mike Town required at 12:30.
