Open final: Hakes v Bryant g1 by Jarrod Coutts

Apologies about the delay, I've had the pleasure of cleaning up the house we stayed on with Shilling and Goldfinch while Hakes and Bryant trotted on down to the club

The weather is a bit average here today, it rained heavily overnight and there was initial concern that the final would only be a b. O. 3

22 Jan 2017 10:37AM (Tournament); 18 Readers

Hakes broke down on a TP from what I heard and Bryant somehow ended up with a clips on 1 & 2b while Hakes was 1b and penault

22 Jan 2017 10:39AM (Tournament); 22 Readers

Hakes I'm assuming failed 1b as when I arrived Bryant had a 5 yarder on Hakes 1b ball

22 Jan 2017 10:39AM (Tournament); 22 Readers

He then went to 4b giving no lift with a cross wire at h1 leaving himself a lag back at partner near c3

22 Jan 2017 10:40AM (Tournament); 23 Readers

after groveling through h1 is on a standard TP with the first peel done after 3

22 Jan 2017 10:45AM (Tournament); 25 Readers

If Bryant completes this turn, I think Hakes will need to win G2 or the match will be all over in 3

22 Jan 2017 10:46AM (Tournament); 25 Readers

Hakes has probably been the form player of the competition so far, but I still think Bryant would have still been favorite

22 Jan 2017 10:47AM (Tournament); 27 Readers

A bit of an average rush after 5 to corner 3 landed really close to peele and he's having a Wylie (?) peel

22 Jan 2017 10:51AM (Tournament); 23 Readers

Gets the penault peel and good rush to 1b so this one should be all over

22 Jan 2017 10:54AM (Tournament); 23 Readers

The wind is the hardest opposition today with both players needing to restart several hoop strokes and roquets

22 Jan 2017 10:55AM (Tournament); 23 Readers

The main problem with the facility we are at (stunning venue, quite incredible really) is that they cant seem to find enough seats for the massive crowd we have

22 Jan 2017 10:56AM (Tournament); 24 Readers

At last count it was nearly up to 13 people!

22 Jan 2017 10:56AM (Tournament); 24 Readers

Rover peel sails through going to 3b and is in complete control

22 Jan 2017 11:01AM (Tournament); 25 Readers

Question for the hundreds of followers out there, 10 minutes left in the game. Oppo is peg and peg vs 5 and 4b. You have a 2 yarder with your 4b ball and a pioneer at 4b. What happened at the end of the turn? Answers to [email protected] it happened during a very interesting block game earlier in the week

22 Jan 2017 11:10AM (Tournament); 27 Readers

Bryant wins the first 10TP

22 Jan 2017 11:11AM (Tournament); 26 Readers
