Hakes vs Bryant g3 by Jarrod Coutts

Missed the opening while i was getting some lunch, but Hakes has first chance at a break. From where the balls lay I can only assume Bryant went into c3 with the leave that would have been by h1 with Hakes laid up in c2 and the 4th ball 4y e on h4

Just started to rain here which is a bit of a shame. Fingers crossed it stays at spitting or dissappears shortly.

Hakes had a rush pointing at c2 after running h2 then played a very good croquet stroke loading h4 and getting a rush to c3 which finishes 1ft South of the corner. This should be a ball round now

22 Jan 2017 1:15PM (Tournament); 18 Readers

Gets a rush back to c3 and has all the balls in lawn now and is in complete control. A jammy yet good pick up

Sprays his 1ft rush from c3 and on the roll down, his h5 pioneer finished 5y SSW of h5

Sprays his 1ft rush from c3 and on the roll down, his h5 pioneer finished 5y SSW of h5

Then misses his 4-5 yard return after h4 giving Bryant a 2 yarder for the innings and two balls in lawn so it should be on 4b at the end of his

End of this *

was a bit wobbly. Hakes has 3 balls within a yard of h1 with his h1 ball

22 Jan 2017 1:31PM (Tournament); 14 Readers

Has a cross wire and lags back towards partner who is on the NB level with h3. Leaves himself a 3 yard rush towards c1 which could be a double

22 Jan 2017 1:33PM (Tournament); 16 Readers

Bryant likes it.. Like it..

22 Jan 2017 1:34PM (Tournament); 16 Readers

Definitely doesn't like it anymore as I think it got the gap. Hakes now plays his h5 ball and should have a ball to 4b leaving all other clips on h1

22 Jan 2017 1:34PM (Tournament); 16 Readers

Grovels through 5 but luckily has a side ball or he might have been in trouble. Approaching 1b now, I'll let you know when the leave is when he gets there

22 Jan 2017 1:41PM (Tournament); 20 Readers

NSL with Y at 3b. Y is lifted and goes to c3

22 Jan 2017 1:49PM (Tournament); 8 Readers

Hits the inlawn ball and this looks like the one he was aiming at as he liked it the whole way

22 Jan 2017 1:50PM (Tournament); 8 Readers

on EB and missed. Bryant now approaching h3 with all the balls for a standard TPO

Second peel jawsed after 6 and Rush peeled after 1b

22 Jan 2017 2:18PM (Tournament); 27 Readers

TPO complete and peg ball is in c2 with h1 ball on EB peg high after initially wanting a c3 and c4 leave but not getting the rush to c3 after pegging him off

22 Jan 2017 2:34PM (Tournament); 24 Readers

Takes croquet from c2, rolls it to 4y n of h1

I'll let you know when one of them gets a break but now it's time to go save some batteries and get into this tucker that the lovely staff and club members at the mt have left for us

22 Jan 2017 2:42PM (Tournament); 19 Readers

Bryant made 1, 2 & 3 off partner beginning from c4 when Hakes shot at him. Played the stopping approach from c4 sending Hakes to 3y NE of h2 and a 4y 15 degrees h4.. What to do now

22 Jan 2017 2:55PM (Tournament); 12 Readers

Runs h4 getting a good rush to h5

22 Jan 2017 2:55PM (Tournament); 12 Readers

Rumor has it that Bryant has been doing secret training in GC with the intention of playing the qualifiers at the worlds in February. That must be why that hoop he ran looked so easy. Two good shots required to have an established 3BB

22 Jan 2017 2:57PM (Tournament); 11 Readers

Now has a laid 3BB and is approaching 1b off partner with a pioneer in perfect position at 2b. You heard it here first, Bryant is the next big thing in GC

22 Jan 2017 3:00PM (Tournament); 16 Readers

Good finish. 13TPO
